Kidnap

Please see this movie! I was reluctant at first for reasons that will distract from my review. Suffice to say I ended up watching the movie and man, what a treat! If you’re a mother you will understand why I am hyped about this movie. “They messed with the wrong mother!” Shut your mouth! Halle Berry was excellent in her portrayal of a mother going through whatever means necessary to get her kid back from kidnappers. See this movie. Forgive Halle for that Oscar hair do and Catwoman. She makes up for it in Kidnap.

Jupiter Ascending

Jupiter Ascending–The Kelly’s are split on this one. George enjoyed it mostly (scoring it an 85) whereas I hated practically hated every scene and sound (I score it a 37).  I found it to be loud and have creative and dynamic it.

thumbs down

Selfless

Selfless is an intriguing movie simply about old rich people –so rich–that they can afford to extend their “life” by having their minds transferred into a younger , healthier body. It’s worth watching so I give it an 80 out of 100. Keep an open mind and be ready for a few twists and turns.

Movie Review: The Cloud Atlas

Welcome to the Kelly Chronicles and our very first post!

The Cloud Atlas starring Tom Hanks and Halle Berry is the first movie we’ve watched in 2016. It was a very long movie at close to 3 hours long but it was worth the investment of time. I give the movie an 80 out of 100 and George scored it a little higher at 90. The movie is a tad intellectual and hard to follow at times but again worth watching if you’ve got a 3 hour time block available. So you may be wondering what the movie is about….well, that’s hard to summarize…which goes to my description of it being “intellectual.” Suffice to say that the movie has a core set of main characters that reappear in different time periods (past, present and future).  Again, it’s hard to summarize what happened and honestly, I think I need to watch it again to catch everything. Try it out and let us know what you think!
